Boats are most of what we do. They are not all we do. If it has to sit outside through a Muskoka winter, or travel without getting marked up, we can wrap it where it stands.
Shrink Wrap Muskoka is the winter half of Muskoka Detail, the Huntsville shop cottagers have used since 2019. The same crew, the same film and the same heat gear that wrap several hundred boats a season go out on everything else.
That is the whole reason we can say yes to odd jobs. Wrapping a patio set for a resort, a pallet of cladding in a contractor's yard or one BBQ behind a garage is the same skill as wrapping a 24 footer. Frame it, film it, vent it, seal it.
Tell us what you have and we will tell you straight whether wrapping is the right answer for it. Sometimes it is not, and we will say so.
Four kinds of customer, one method. If what you have is not on the list, ask anyway. The list keeps growing.
Every October the terraces come down and go under something. Tarps come off in May chafed, stained and smelling of mildew. Wrapped and vented, it comes out the way it went in. This is the single most common non-boat job we do.
A bundle wrapped on site sheds snow, stays together and does not soak up water for three weeks while the build waits on something else. We come to the yard or the site with our own power.
Most garages and sheds run out of room by the first week of November. Wrapping outside costs a fraction of what a new cover or a rebuilt seat does, and it is a lot faster than fighting a tarp in the wind every January.
Dealers and rental yards run out of inside space every winter. Wrapping outdoors is considerably cheaper than losing units to weather, and heavy gauge film holds a load together on a truck as well as in a yard.
Running a business with a lot of it? There is more detail on the commercial shrink wrapping page.
No site visit needed for most jobs. A photo and a rough size is usually enough to give you a fixed number.
Text it, email it or use the form below. Tell us roughly what it is, how much of it there is, and where it lives. A pile of patio furniture for 60 covers in Port Carling is plenty of detail.
Takes two minutesUsually within a day. One number for the job, not an hourly rate that moves on you. If it is a big or awkward site we will come and look first, which costs nothing.
Quote in a dayWe bring film, framing, heat and our own power, so nothing has to be moved or hauled anywhere. Small items can also come to the shop in Huntsville if that suits you better.
Mobile across MuskokaA tarp is a sheet held on with rope. Wrap is a fitted skin that is heated onto the shape it covers and sealed. That difference is the whole job.
The film is rated for a full season of sun, so it does not go chalky and brittle by March and start tearing in the first spring wind. Heavier gauges go on anything with sharp corners or a long haul ahead of it.
A sealed cover with no airflow traps moisture against whatever is under it. That is what rusts equipment and ruins cushions over a winter. Every wrap we install gets vents, the same as the boats.
Framed first, then filmed, then heated until it pulls tight and every seam is welded shut. Nothing loose for wind to catch, nothing flapping to chafe a finish, no gaps for water to find.
The frame gives the film a slope so snow slides instead of sitting. Meltwater runs off the outside rather than pooling in a tarp belly and soaking through the middle of February.
Both of these were wrapped where they stood, outside, in Huntsville.
Two ways to get it done. Most non-boat work happens at your place, because moving a wrapped patio set defeats the point.
Huntsville, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Port Carling, Minett, Bala, Baysville, Windermere, Dorset, MacTier and the lakes in between. We also run a yard on Lake Simcoe, so Barrie, Innisfil, Georgina and Keswick are covered.
The truck carries film, framing, heat and its own generator, so we do not need power or a building at the site. Outside that area, send a postal code and we will tell you honestly whether the trip makes sense.
Smaller items are often cheaper to wrap at the shop, because there is no trip to pay for. Drop it off, pick it up wrapped. Good option for a BBQ, a sled, a cart or a few pieces of furniture.
Send a photo and a rough size. That is genuinely all we need for most things.
Anything that is not a boat is quoted per job, because a patio set, a skid steer and a pallet of lumber are not the same unit and a per foot rate would be meaningless. What it comes down to is how much there is to cover, how many separate pieces, and what the site is like.
There is no minimum job size and no charge to come and look. You get one fixed number, usually back within a day.
Boats are the exception: those rates are published openly, by length, with no callback needed. See the pricing page for boat storage, shrink wrapping, winterization and pickup.
Anything else, call or text (705) 783-8458. Spencer or Cody answers.
Almost certainly. If we can get film around it and heat to it, we can wrap it. Patio sets, dock furniture, hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, BBQs, ATVs, side by sides, sleds, golf carts, lumber bundles, machinery, pallets and plenty of things stranger than that. Send a photo and a rough size and we will tell you straight whether wrapping is the right answer for it.
A properly installed wrap is built to get through one full Canadian winter, roughly October to May, which is exactly what we ask of it on several hundred boats a season. The film is UV rated so it does not go brittle in the spring sun.
Left on through a second summer it will start breaking down, so treat wrap as a one season cover rather than a permanent one. More on that in how long shrink wrap lasts.
No. The film is heat shrunk onto the shape it covers, so taking it off means cutting it off. It is recyclable rather than reusable, and it goes on fresh each season.
If you need to get at what is inside over the winter, we can fit a zippered access door so you are not cutting the seal open.
Not when it is framed and padded properly. The film never sits hard against a finished surface. We build a frame first, pad the contact points, and keep the heat moving and away from anything it could mark.
Tarps do far more damage than wrap does. A tarp moves with every gust, and that constant rubbing is what dulls a finish and wears through upholstery.
No minimum, and no charge to come and look. One BBQ is a small job, so we will usually fit it in alongside another call in your area, which keeps the trip cost sensible. A resort putting a whole terrace away gets its own day.
Anything going away for the winter wants to be wrapped before the first sustained frost, which lands here in mid October most years. September and October are the busy weeks, so earlier is better if you have a lot of it.
Freight, transport and material wrapping we do year round, on whatever notice you have.
Nothing is booked or charged here. You describe what you have, we send back a number. If wrapping is the wrong answer for it we will tell you that instead.
In a hurry, or easier to just say it out loud? Call or text (705) 783-8458 or email sales@shrinkwrapmuskoka.com. Photos by text are the fastest way to get a price.
Leave a phone number or an email so we can get back to you. Photos help a lot, text them to (705) 783-8458 after you send this.
We have your details and will come back with a number, usually within a day. If it is urgent, call or text (705) 783-8458.
